Senior Isha Dalal was chosen as English Student of the Month for January.

English teacher Sabra Gerber considers Dalal’s multifaceted approach to schoolwork her best trait. Although she’s pursuing a career in Computer Science, her passion and curiosity for the arts shine through as an intern for Gerber’s E108 Freshman Honors English class. 

“She chooses to intern not because she plans to be an English teacher—or any kind of teacher, actually—but because she loves English,” Gerber said. “She loves the questions and the learning,  the thinking and the growing—things she has been doing with talent and grace since her freshman year.” 

In addition to being an intern, she’s also a student in AP Literature and Composition, where she enjoys discussing varying perspectives and analyses of literary works. 

“My favorite thing about English is reading and talking about the books, because it’s always so cool to see how others interpret the same thing that you read completely differently,” Dalal said.
